Homeschooling in Michigan is a lot of fun! This state is full of natural beauty and a multitude of educational experiences. We have lived here over 10 years and have enjoyed all of them! We aren’t Michigan natives. We moved here from Connecticut in 2009.

Around the time we got married in 2006 I think my exact words to my husband were, “Do not ask me to move to Michigan.” Famous last words, right? I had only been here once and it was, you guessed it, winter. Winter in west Michigan is not for the faint of heart. It is long, cold and pretty dark because of the cloud cover that hardly ever lifts during the cold months.

The Lord had other plans for us. We took one trip here in the summer and I was sold! In fact, I was pretty depressed coming back to Connecticut after that trip. I’ve even come to like winters here. They are full of sledding, shoveling, ice skating, snow fort building!
